Venetian Veracity
Venetian Dreams
Venice, Italy
The Rialto Bridge is quintessential Venice: elegant, and just a touch over the top. Once you get past the throngs of tourists, you can appreciate her fine balustrade and clean, simple stonework. She is an icon in an iconic city, but you almost can’t tell whether she is framing the gondolas that glide past, or they are actually framing her.

Grand Canal Panorama
Venice, Italy
The Grand Canal snakes its way from the Venetian lagoon to the basin at San Marco, but it is usually abustle with boats of every shape and size jockeying for a path through. As the chill of Winter’s evening arrives to caress palaces and people alike, she brings a brief respite from the chaos and we see the Grand Canal at one of her more serene moments.

Purely Academic
Venice, Italy
The Ponte dell'Accademia is one of only four bridges that cross the Grand Canal of Venice. It is sturdy and elegant in its industrial chic modality, charming despite its stark contrast to the more traditional Venetian architecture that surrounds it: a reminder that Venice is a city of the Then and Now.

Bridge Over Venetian Waters
Venice, Italy
As early February dawns and brings the certain chill of Winter’s grip, these waters are untroubled by the hordes and traffic of warmer seasons. A peaceful calm ensues, and La Serenissima takes a deep sigh of relief to enjoy her down time serenity.
